THE STORY OF OWLESBURY DREAM

Brendan Powell's son, also named Brendan or B.J. had a project to do at school earlier this year. The basis of the project for his class was to look forward into their lives and write an article about where they saw themselves career wise. B.J.'s project centred around him becoming a top jockey (presumably, not unlike his father) and to win The Grand National. The school that 11 year old, B.J. attends is in a small village called OWLESBURY.
Brendan Junior named this super horse, OWLESBURY DREAM.
When Brendan Snr. read his son's project, he decided to name one of his then unnamed horses in his yard in honour of his son's dream, hence the mare, OWLESBURY DREAM was named.
It was quite a touching moment, for all concerned to see this classy mare win first time out at Ludlow on the 9th DECEMBER.
It's a lovely story and I do hope that OWLESBURY DREAM continues to give all the connections some great days out, and hopefully, many more visits to the Winner's Enclosure.
