BRENDAN POWELL sent out his first winner on the course,and enjoyed his first success as an owner when Princess Flame, ridden by Kylie Manser took the apprentice handicap by a head from Timocracy.

"I've had a few near misses here before but this is my first winner, and I've only been an owner for a coupleof weeks," said the winning trainer.

"This filly has now won a bumper, over hurdles and on the Flat, so the idea is to win a chase with her and then send her off to stud," he added.
